An AWESOME PDF tool you can use (works as an add on to your browser) is PDF Download. It will make managing PDFs online MUCH easier for you. When you click a PDF link a window will pop up asking if you want to view it, download it (save it to your computer) and a couple of other options.
finaLLY got it…it took a work around but it is printing now. Usually, I can just CLICK on something and it downloads onto my mac. I had to do the equivalent of a right click (which is not that on a Powerbook )
anyway…problem solved
Hey Christina!
is there something wrong with the time notation on the comments? it is clocking the comments in with the newest at the top, but the TIME of the comments is backwards…My last comment has taken the time of what was PROBABLY your time of the PDF download (cool tool, by the way, thanks). just wondered about the time thing. I made my SUCCESS time about 6:29 and now I see that the time on your download pdf post is 8:47 which is two hours from now. ??? just thought I would ask so you can figure it out. oh..silly me…you are probably already working on it. talk to you later (5 min).
Thank you for yesterday’s call. Not sure if I will make tomorrow’s because it is between two appointments and I’ll have to see how the timing plays out. Still trying to figure out/naviage everything this site has to offer and figure out my next step.
You’re welcome, Jenni! I received your email too. I’m glad you were able to make the call yesterday. I hope your son is feeling better today. I hope you can make the call tomorrow, but if you’re not able to I understand. We’ll miss you though.
Hi Christina!
i’m drawing a blank as to how to tell what my NICHE is looking for, what their problems are, etc. I have done keyword searches and reverse lookups, and checked Amazon and eBay, but not sure I am doing this right. any guidance you can offer? maybe I am not the only one lost?
thanks,
mary beth
The little one is on the med, but now my 9 year old has it (RSV). They usually go down like dominos (one after the other) so I’m hoping my 6 year old will just go ahead and get it over with too if she’s going to get it, but I’m doing everything I can to keep her healthy and hope maybe she avoids it this go round!
I’m still a little lost on how to navigate here. Where do I find the recordings and yahoo info? If I’m able to type here, am I “logged in” already, because every time I click the “log in” link it just brings me back to this site and there’s no place for me to enter a password or anything.
I’ll keep poking around and see what I can figure out, but I’m feeling rather clueless at the moment. Sorry to be so high needs! Yikes! Also I still need a little clarification on exactly what our “homework” is before tomorrow. I feel like I wasn’t all there with you the last couple of minutes before I had to excuse myself early from the call yesterday and I want to keep up and stay as prepared as I can.
Thank you for all the direction you can give this little lost puppy! LOL
OK, maybe it’s sleep deprivation, but I finally found the links to both yesterday’s recording and the yahoo group. Thank you. And I think I recall clicking on something like “keep me logged in for 2 weeks” or something like that when I first logged in, so I’m guessing that answers my other question about log in. So all I still really need clarification about is homework. Thank you!
Mary Alice – congrats on your new client! I sure hope it doesn’t mean that we’ll be missing you live.
Jenni – Yep, you answered two of your questions. Homework was to research your niche. If you download the recording and skip forward to when you left it might help.
Per our session yesterday what you want to look for is the problem that your niche has that you have the solution for. We’ll be going over it a little more in tomorrow’s session. It should help.
What you want to look for is info that’s already out there – books, sites at the top of search engines, questions asked on social networks and online communities, etc. What solutions are already being offered? What questions are being asked? These are indicative of problems people have that they are looking for a solution to.
What are people spending their money on, not just a few people, but a lot of people? What problem is it solving for them? Not just any people, but we’re talking about people in your target market.
For example, if you have a weight loss product is that a hot product? I would say so with the tremendous number of books on the market for that. Publishers wouldn’t publish it if it weren’t going to sell and sell well. Look at titles, headlines on magazines and newspapers, etc. What’s on the cover? They’ve spent a LOT of money to figure out what’s going to grab people’s attention.
So you’d want to look at what type of weight loss products, books, magazines, etc are currently available. Is it a specific type of weight loss program? Does it target a specific part of the body? Is it all about fast results or easy lifestyle changes? Is it about cutting out sweets or cutting out fat?
Here are some questions you can ask yourself:
1. What are people in my target market buying as it relates to my product or service?
2. What solution is being provided for them (through what they are already buying – what question is being answered for them)?
3. What’s their specific problem that I can solve?
4. How will their life be different once they get their hands on my product or service?
Jenni! what is RSV? Hope the little ones are better soon.
Christina! thanks for solving the riddle of the time notations. I thought I was confused!
Yes…love doing the Gravatar…can hardly wait to have everyone else do theirs!
Glad Mary Alice squeeked up…miss her in class!
Now…to work on my Niche perfection…still a little confused with what I am doing…back to work!

They are flash files. You may need to install Adobe Flash Player to in order to view them. You can download it here (it’s a free program): http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Mary Beth, RSV is a nasty respitory virus that often lands infants in the hospital. Fortunately our youngest is 3 so we aren’t in too much of a danger of hospitalization, but it’s still nasty and hitting all three (yes, the 6 year old is sick now too) of them hard and even though littlest is on the med, still really needy at this stage! (When our daughter was 3, she had it then too and ran a fever of 106.4. Scary stuff!)
Christina, sorry I missed yesterday’s call. Hubby’s out of town for the weekend and I’m fighting off a touch of this virus too, so I’m going to do my best to play catch up while he’s gone, but may not get a chance to really start getting back on track until some time next week.
Ok…after spending a few hours looking at Wordpress themes (I did this in the last class too and didn’t find anything : (… and getting TOTALLY confused and seeing nothing that APPEALED TO ME…I looked at the Artisteer wordpress designer…and hmmm…looks pretty neat. I am wondering if it is worth $50 to avoid my current state of NOTHING LOOKS YUMMY to me, or if it is overkill and I should just sketch out something I think I want (huh? that is what artisteer does only it makes it look great.
color me confused! http://www.artisteer.com Christina may already have this?
I was getting a little excited looking at it. LOL!Great to see a photo of Cathy!
Don’t buy that. I really don’t recommend any kind of do-it-yourself system. If nothing looks good, that’s okay. Just make a list of sites you DO like certain elements of and send that to me. K? List the URL and what you like on the site whether it’s the colors, where links are located, the fact that it’s 2 or 3 column, etc.
yeah…I didn’t of course get it since it ism’t for a MAC and I always check with you first . I know what colors I want to use…just have to find a format I like. will look some more tonite. downladed a few possibilities, but non were in colors I could use and I don’t know how to evaluate the comments they have. I have started making a copy of the display version of the themes I download so I will remember the name and what they look like. I’ll keep at it. thanks for the advice! mb
Yes, I registered both of my active email addresses with gravatar and one of them is this one I’m using here. I also tried to post a blog reply to someone today and selected it as wordpress (when it gave me all the login options such a google, etc.) and it wouldn’t let me post at all. I guess I need to go back to wrodpress and see if there is an issue with my account there.
Hoping to listen to session 2 once I get kids to bed tonight.
I am not able to open the documents/videos either. I downloaded the flashplayer, but I keep getting an error message…It keeps trying to open with realplayer and I don’t know how to get it to try to use flashplayer. sigh.,
I’m thinking that the flash player may not be compatible with my MAC? when I try to direct it to FP to open the video, it is GRAY and I have received a non-supported type error message. I am now at the limit of my computer knowledge. : -

Hey MB,
The comment time was off and when I noticed it I fixed it, but it didn’t correct the time on the comments that were already made.
AWESOME job on setting up your gravatar.com account and adding your pic. It’s perfect!!

A tool I did not mention was the special report I offer at http://www.IrresistibleWomanEntrepreneur.com. You can request that and it will really help in researching a niche.

Finally took a look at these. They’re short and to the point. Good info. Especially, as I am a visual learner.
